Name the Thing That Keeps Finding You

You were nine, or six, or old enough to know better. Something on a screen or in a book or at the foot of your bed got in, and it never entirely left.

Most people grow out of it.

You grew around it.

Maybe it is a figure you can name. Mothman. The Old Hag sitting on your chest at three in the morning. A woman at the river who will not stop looking for her children. Maybe it is a fear that has no face on it yet: being watched, being taken, being turned into something you would not recognize.

Either end is a place to start.

A completely custom JoJo’s Oddity begins there. You name what keeps finding you. Together we decide what body it takes.

The figure is the doorway. The fear is the room.

This Is Full Collaboration

Full collaboration means you do not hand me a name and disappear. You have a voice in what your Oddity becomes.

You bring the subject. I bring the materials, the symbolism, and the problem-solving that happens at my workbench. I make suggestions. You make choices. By the time I begin building, I know what matters to you and I still have room to make art.

One decision stays mine. I choose the gemstones, one to three depending on size. They belong to the figure, and they are chosen to fit it.

Everything else is open to you.

You choose the size and place your order first. Then I send you a form. The form is where our collaboration begins.

The Fill-In Form

Five questions are required. If forms make you want to crawl out of your skin, answer those and stop. I will reach out within two business days either way and we can talk the rest through.

The form asks what you are bringing me and what hold it has on you. It does not ask you to design the doll for me. It gives us somewhere to start.

From there we work through the physical choices together. I suggest colors, fabrics, textures, symbols, and objects based on the figure your Oddity will embody. You choose what belongs. You tell me when something feels wrong.

The conversation shapes the build.

And then my hands get involved.

The Monster Is Not the Point

JoJo’s Oddities™ does not ask you to admire the monster. It asks why the monster found you.

A figure out of folklore or horror is rarely only itself. It is hunger, or warning, or exile, or punishment wearing a face the culture agreed to recognize.

A cryptid is the fear of being watched from the treeline. A ghost is grief that will not leave the room. A notorious name is what a culture does with the people it cannot explain.

Your Oddity is built to hold that, not to celebrate it. Building a figure is not an endorsement of it.

I build figures, not scenes. Name something that can have a body. I do not recreate crimes and I do not build anyone in the act of hurting someone.

Once the fear has a body, you can approach it. It stops moving through you unseen and starts being something you can question, place, argue with, and return to.

Comfort is not what it offers.

How It Takes Form

Every Oddity begins with wire armature, fabric, yarn, stone, and the first decisions we made together.

Then it starts answering back.

A color that made sense on paper goes dead in my hands. A binding wants to stay visible. Something I meant to hide turns out to be the part that gives it presence.

I pay attention to those disruptions.

These dolls rarely have a face. What it has is left to whoever is looking to find, if you find it at all. A sculpted expression would tell you what to feel. An absence lets the thing look back.

You have shaped what it carries. I have built dolls long enough to know when the one on my workbench has something to add.

What You Can Shape

This is where completely custom earns its name. We can work together on its:

• size and overall presence
• figure or fear embodied
• colors and yarn
• fabrics, textures, and visual mood
• symbols and meaningful objects
• what it wears or carries
• personal materials you want incorporated

I choose the gemstones. One at 6 to 8 inches, two at 9 to 11, three at 12 to 14, and usually three at 15 to 18.

You do not need to arrive knowing what any of the rest should be.

Bring me the part you know.

I will suggest possibilities and explain why I think they belong. You make the choices that matter to you. If you want to hand some of those decisions back to me, you can.

If you have something personal that belongs on it or inside it, tell me. A scrap of fabric. A handwritten note. A bead, a charm, a bit of jewelry. We will talk about whether and how it becomes part of the build before you send it.

Nothing goes into the doll without purpose.

Size Sets the Starting Price

Completely custom work begins with size. These prices are starting points because the final materials and build do not exist yet.

Commissions start at six inches.

Unusual materials or a build requiring substantially more work may raise the final price. You will know the complete price and approve it before I begin building. There will be no surprise invoice amount waiting at the other end.

Deposit Conditions

After our first conversation, I send you an email with everything we agreed on written down. Your reply is your approval, and your deposit becomes nonrefundable once you send it.

Until then, nothing is committed. If you decide to stop before you reply, I refund what you paid.

If I have not heard from you within fourteen days of sending that email, I refund you and close the order. You can start again whenever you are ready.

How Commissioning Works

1. Choose the size and place your order.
   Pay 50% or 100% of the starting price at checkout.
2. Tell me what keeps finding you.
   After your order, I’ll send you a link to the form. Name the figure, or name the fear, and tell me what hold it has on you. You do not need to solve the doll before you come to me.
3. We shape it together.
   I review what you send and contact you within two business days. We talk through the figure and anything I need to understand.
4. You approve the final price.
   Anything above the starting price is discussed during our first conversation before the build begins. That conversation is your time to ask questions, change direction, or decide the commission is not right for you. After we talk, I send you an email with everything we decided written down. Read it, correct anything I got wrong, and reply. Your reply is your go-ahead, and I start the build.
5. I build it.
   I photograph the process as it takes form. When it is finished, any remaining balance is due before it leaves my studio.

Nothing is made until the meaning is clear.

What It Comes Home With

The finished doll is only part of what arrives. You also receive the record of its making, the meanings carried in its materials, and guidance for beginning your own relationship with it.

Creation Sheet: My original sketch, process notes, impressions, scraps, marks, and whatever else the making left behind.

Story Card: Its story, gathered from what emerged while it took form.

Certificate of Authenticity: A signed record of its appearance, materials, completion date, and ownership.

Letter to Keeper: My notes on the compositional elements chosen for it, along with details from the build and the character that emerged in my hands.

Care and Precautions: Guidance for caring for its materials, including any safety information specific to what it carries.

Pictures of the Build: Photographs of its construction, including the layers and materials you will never see once it is finished.

Energetic Guide for Using Your Doll: Ways to begin working with it through ritual, reflection, conversation, placement, and your own ongoing practice.

For the Keeper’s Pocket: A matching selection of gemstones, oils, or herbs connected to the materials built into or carried with your doll.

You receive the finished doll. You also receive the evidence of how it became itself.

What It Is For

A JoJo’s Oddity gives a fear somewhere to stand outside your body.

Put it where the fear usually finds you. The hallway you do not like at night. The desk where the same dread turns up at four in the afternoon. Let it hold that post while you go do something else.

Sit across from it and ask the questions you have been stepping around. Why are you here. What are you protecting. What do you know that I have refused to hear. Write down the answer you do not like and leave the page underneath it. Come back tomorrow and read what you wrote.

Bring it into shadow work when something buried starts talking. A monster is usually a message with bad manners. Ask what it came to deliver before you decide what to do with it.

Use it the way a collector uses a relic, too. Some Keepers want the story more than the reckoning, and that is a real reason to own one. Fascination and fear tend to be the same door approached from different sides.

Then watch what changes between you. A figure that started as a thrill can turn into a question. One you thought you had understood may start asking about something you have not looked at in years.

The relationship develops through use.

A completely custom JoJo’s Oddity asks for more than choosing a monster you like. We are deciding what deserves a body, what that body has to carry, and how you want to meet it once it comes home.

JoJo’s Oddities™ are symbolic art objects for reflection, psychological exploration, ritual, and collection. They are not therapy or treatment, and they do not cure illness, prevent harm, or control events. They embody the presence of their subject and make no claim to literal haunting, possession, or factual authority beyond artistic inspiration.

I do not sensationalize violence, tragedy, or death. A doll built around a frightening or notorious figure is not an endorsement of that figure.

These dolls are not toys and are not for children. They contain small parts, wire, stones, fibers, oils, herbs, and other materials. Oils and herbs are included for symbolic and sensory use. Read the material information included with your doll before applying anything to your skin.
